I hope I can explain the problem good enough, until yesterday, the scanner worked great. I noticed a red blinking light, and it has been hit and miss on scanning film, mostly miss now.   • Powerful software
  • high resolution
  • and solid construction
  • it works great for both 35mm and medium format
  • does a great Job on large format and ok job on the 120 films
  • Perfection 4870 does a good job capturing highlight and shadow detail in print scans
  • the Perfection 4870 is very straightforward
  • way Digital ICE cleaned up those old chromes
  • Epson 4870 matches up very well with dedicated film scanners

Cons

  • only grown slightly thicker than its predecessor
  • film scanning isn't up to snuff

  • cannot paste images directly
  • not viewing 100% on screen
  • MF film scanners are so much more expensive
  • 5 Terribly long scan times with ICE
