Pros

  • The controls are also intuitive and easy to understand
  • scan quality is dramatically enhanced and the quality of the scan result is
  • hard- and software was great for scanning such images
  • straightforward control interface makes it easy to choose both fully automated scanning modes and user-controlled scanning
  • Colour recovery was quite good
  • The on-device controls are fairly simple and straightforward
  • scanning slides and film negatives also works well and is straightforward to use
  • make it easy to shoot compelling lifestyle images
  • solid and well-built
  • versatility
  • speed

Cons

  • it was a bit lacking
  • can't over-ride the pre-sets
  • There is no native text recognition software
  • CanoScan's software is a bit more finicky
  • No cherry-picked units sent by manufacturers
  • No flatbed is going to match a document scanner in terms of multi-page speed
  • smaller text sometimes looked just slightly fuzzier than the what the high end document scanners produced
  • oranges tended to be over-saturated in some scans
  • 35mm negatives those flatbed are not the best option
