They are a bit hard to open but

The interface is a bit confusing and inconsistent at times
no option to open links in a new tab or window
no way to extend the widget to see more

it feels old and tired in comparison to Android or iOS
The shape is a bit odd to me
No QWERTY Keyboard while Vertical is unforgivable
you can only put widgets of one size on the screen
it s not a real button and
you couldn t put shortcuts on the screen only widgets
texting in portrait mode
the maze of the GPS interface was a nightmare
widgets and multi-touch
poor user interface design
those icons are often confusing
5 is annoying
lack of free Office document editing is a bit
slow down noticeably with numerous first party apps loaded
battery could have been that bit more powerful
it easily falls shy of market leadership
lack of polish puts a hurt on quick navigation
it comes up short in far too many areas
the profile and has a habit of getting stuck in pockets
not as sharp as some of the latest smartphones
performance on the N8 is a bit sluggish
The responsiveness of both features is a bit inconsistent
you only get a QWERTY option in landscape view
doesn't have a user-replaceable battery
the phone is completely erratic about switching from its portrait to landscape mode keyboards
noticeable camera bump on its rear
Meego may be too little
too late
Everything requires one too many clicks including opening a new web page window
the buttons are on the small side
there is no on-screen place to find apps
Web-based widgets were also sluggish to update their stats
slowest shutter speed is limited to 1/5
operative system is not as good as Apple iOS or Google Android
a SIM card slot
sluggish
unfriendly software make for an uneven experience
the Ovi store is pretty sparse compared to competitors
Nokia has failed to keep pace with Apple
lacks the intuitiveness and sophistication of competing mobile OSes

One year of the Nokia N8: the ultimate 'long term review'?

Exactly a year ago, to the day, Nokia released the N8 to the world's press (and to a few lucky people able to get to the few flagship stores), just making their own Q3, 2010 deadline. As of two hours later, my main SIM went in the N8 and, a few review and retro dalliances aside, has been in it ever since. For anyone who's followed me over the years, that's nothing short of incredible. The same phone for 12 months. And there's still nothing to replace it.
