The Epson V600 is a reasonably priced scanner aimed at analog film shooters. It's fairly easy to operate and capable of decent image quality, but still easily bested by scans from our local photo lab.
For a photographer looking to transfer their analog films and slides to digital format, the V600 provides an affordable and versatile solution.
Epson’s Perfection V600 Photo is a fast, capable scanner designed for home or semi-pro photographic scan and repair, using Digital ICE.
For photographers looking to get into scanning their own film, the Epson V600 is the perfect first flatbed scanner. Still made new, the Epson V600 is available for $230 from most retailers that sell camera equipment. It doesn’t have the best reputation when compared with its more refined and expensive sibling, the Epson V850. It does, however, come at a much lower price tag at one fifth the price. It’s true, the V850 has many updated features that would result in sharper images, but for all intents and purposes, the difference is minimal unless you’re making a fairly large print.

A capable, easy to use flatbed scanner with the ability to digitise prints, negatives and slides.
The Epson Perfection V600 is a good entry point for those looking for a high-end photo scanner that can handle film negatives and slides but don't want to...
