Micro-contrast is also excellent
rugged build and relatively light weight and compact size
fast and quiet autofocusing
its superb performance at mid-range and small apertures
superb performance for available light photography in low light conditions
Manual focus operation is smooth and easy
well-dampened and easy to grip
spectacular sharpness and impressive performance at all settings

Performance fully stopped down at /22 is still excellent
The colour rendition is superb

24 L II is a weather sealed lens
Canon 24mm lens can touch it physically or optically at identical aperture settings
Still a bit soft until stopped down with lots of CA
unbalanced flashes caused the bottom image to be slightly too bright -
4L loses over 4 stops of light in full frame sensor corners
