Sigma 24mm F1.8 EX DG Aspherical Macro

Pros

  • this lens is a true bargain
  • very sharp and wonderful contrast and colors
  • the manual focus ring is very good
  • Better build quality and more straightforward focus
  • bokeh is pleasing enough and shallow depth of field great for arty shots
  • good
  • solid camera handling technique to ensure sharp results
  • Nice and sharp
  • It has a nice heft and feel and a very nice finish
  • macro shots is also very impressive
  • Glass is very sharp and distortion free

Cons

  • very slight purple color fringing at the edges of the frame
  • front element extends when focusing meaning you get quite extreme lens breathing
  • erratic AF in low light but
  • the lens is slightly soft across the frame
  • the front element does not turn during autofocus
  • the lens is fairly bare
  • this lens is useless
  • lost a total of $30 in shipping costs
  • the sharpness of the low light images was poor
  • Sigma lens may be a challenge for your muscle memory
  • the lens extends a bit when focusing towards closer distance
