Samsung Q8DN review: another outstanding LCD TV with direct lighting and local dimming. If your budget doesn't stretch to the Q9FN, check this out.
There are plenty of great smart TVs. Our guide cuts through the alphabet soup to tell everything you need to know to buy the one that's right for you.
The QLED series from Samsung builds on the Premium UHD line up series by adding a wider color gamut via Quantum Dot film. It has excellent black levels as an Ultra Black Elite panel and will capture the intended increased brightness and color of HDR content with considerable accuracy.
It doesn't come with the One Connect breakout box you get with the Q9FN, but it offers nearly the same performance as higher-end model for $700 less.
Q8 is a scaled-down version of Q9FN with fewer dimming zones. Q8 also features 4K, HDR, Tizen & Samsung's One Remote.
Performance Features Ergonomics Value
The Samsung 65-inch Q8FN QLED TV is a premium 4K TV that not only offers great picture quality and superb 4.1 sound, it can even compete with OLED displays, thanks to the best black levels we've seen on an LCD display.
Back at CES in January, Samsung announced its 2017 line of premium UHD TVs, dubbed QLED. Yeah that name looks a lot like OLED, but don't be fooled: the tail of the Q makes all the difference. QL...
The Samsung Q8F / Q8 is a 2018 QLED TV with great picture quality, especially in a bright room due to the high peak brightness and excellent reflection handling....
The GHI's Tried & Tested review of the Samsung QE65Q8DN
Samsung’s flagship flatscreen for 2018, the QE65Q9FN, is the best 4K LCD TV I've ever experienced. Its combination of astonishing brightness and the sort of black levels only OLED TVs used to manage make it a dream to watch. The lure of the QE65Q8DN on test here is that it offers much of the Q9FN’s core technology for a lower price.
Samsung's Q8 QLED TV is a beautiful product that boasts a powerful HDR experience. It's a bit pricy.
Samsung’s 2018 QLED TVs continue to impress
