It comes with a short learning curve making it easy to use, and a commendable 24 Megapixel CMOS sensor that’s also present in the D3200 and D7100. The camera can shoot videos of up to 1080p resolution at 30frames per second, and […]
After the introduction of the entry-level 24Mpix D3200 early last year it seemed inevitable that the rest of the firm’s APS-C (DX) range would be refreshed with the same sensor. While the gestation of the new 24Mpix D5200 has taken longer than most people could of reasonably predicted, the sensor is, in fact, a new design and the first from a different vendor for Nikon. We’ve recently put the new camera through our labs, read on to see how the new sensor performs.

Nikon D5200 Review
The Nikon D5200 comes with some impressive specs for an entry-level camera - a 24MP sensor with the AF system from the D7000, and an Expeed 3 image engine based on the flagship D4. Here's why it's a good choice for anyone looking for their first DSLR camera.
The Nikon D5200 is a new mid-range DSLR camera with a 24 megapixel sensor, vari-angle LCD screen and 1080p HD movies. The D5200 also offers an ISO range of 100-25600, 5fps continuous shooting, a range of creative effects and a 39-point autofocus system. Read our in-depth Nikon D5200 review now...

As Nikon's 'advanced beginner' DSLR, the D5200 sits between the entry-level D3200 and the enthusiast-targeted D7100 in the company's most recent APS-C lineup. The D5200 offers 24MP resolution (like its APS-C stablemates), an articulated rear LCD and more physical controls than the D3200, but without the twin-dial interface and professional grade AF system of the decidedly higher market (and much more customizeable) D7100.
A budget-priced DX-format DSLR with high sensor resolution and sophisticated video capabilities.
The Nikon D5200 improves performance over its predecessor, making it a great general-purpose dSLR.
This is an impressive combination for 'advanced beginners'.
