Both are very fast
Optical Performance Look and feel are all well and good
combination to be light and flexible
adds pretty good protection and also bulk
The lens is quite sharp
The standard Normal mode is fine for most shooting situations
Build quality is excellent
Vibration Reduction system of the lens was quite impressive
its overall performance and versatility
superb build
handling and ergonomics
better light sensitivity range and improved AF system -
Autofocus accuracy is also excellent
the lens is built very well

no depth-of-field marks and no infrared focus index
Edge performance suffers at wide apertures
Sharpness dips a little at 35mm f/2
the front element extends a bit while zooming
the lens might not be fully compatible
seeing +1% barrel distortion in the corners
seeing corners which are a full stop darker than the center
attached 82mm filters will not rotate during focus operations
it is not as good as either of those lenses
The lens aperture is not variable
lens does not suffer from lens creep when pointed up or down vertically
