  • Audio quality is also good as a world-class audio converter provides
  • build quality is great like older Motu cards
  • audio quality it delivers is superb
  • solid metal chassis gives it strong protection from damage
  • overall quality of the Preamps is superb
  • the 1248 still looks excellent value for money
  • Scalable
  • with high channel counts

Cons

  • costly audio interface
  • Thunderbolt is only provided in Mac devices
  • This post may contain affiliate links
  • no need to install the Motu web app on your hard drive
  • the reverb features way too much of the original signal slapping
  • Metering does not clearly indicate overs
  • It often takes several seconds to serve each page
  • the present looks like a bit of a mess
  • my Windows machine is now four and a half years old
  • occasional CPU spikes at buffer sizes
  • The software does not reside on your computer
