Fragment anti-aliasing - PCSTATS.comRead more
As far as your gaming is concerned, there¿s a few things you¿ll want to know about Parhelia. First is a new method of Anti-Aliasing that Matrox calls Fragment AA, which runs AA only on the edge pixels of objects. This saves a lot of memory bandwidth and doesn¿t hurt image quality nearly as much as some multisampling methods can (since it¿s not anti-aliasing the entire screen). Plus, at 16X you get amazing quality out of it. Second on the list is high quality 64-sample anisotropic filtering, which translates to amazing texture clarity. Third is 256-bit DDR memory. That¿s twice what the GeForce 4 Ti and Radeon 8500 cards have. This provides an insanely large amount of bandwidth to the card, which is very useful for all that Anti-Aliasing and texture filtering. And last (but certainly not least) is full hardware support for DirectX 8 along with some partial support of features from the upcoming DX9.Read more
