Hollywood has moved away from film to tape
stock lens hard to focus manually
quirky design
lack of progressive-video capabilities
the Magnifying function can be switched on only when the camera is not recording
Camera wobbles can be noticed more in HD videos
some noise in the footage produced
sound quality being not up to par with professional microphones
these images would not be seen on the tape
the viewfinder has become bigger
this feature was only previously available on broadcast ENG cameras
this is not a camera for a backpack VJ or an ordinary videophile

A unique HDV camcorder that’s just as comfortable in the field as it is cabled to a multi-cam studio setup. Professionals will find a lot to like in the XL-H1, while enthusiasts and semi-pro events videographers would be better off looking at a less expensive model.
