Pros

  • has fast autofocus and a very effective and useful image stabilization
  • stabilized viewfinder this mode provides at 600mm is extremely helpful
  • The design refinements are also better seen in this tool
  • 600 L II performs very well
  • solid
  • quality-built lens
  • -extender focusing speeds from these combinations are quite impressive
  • focus extremely fast and very quietly
  • extremely quickly and very consistently accurately
  • stronger
  • smoother and again features 90 detents for

Cons

  • only the 800 L IS is heavier
  • image in the viewfinder does not jump around when the system activates
  • Low speed is hard to catch before moving into fast speed
  • new models do not stack with old models
  • Infinity focus distance is of course lost when ETs are mounted
  • 100mm is not really a significant increase in focal length
  • too heavy and have minimum focusing distances
  • this lens produces is nothing short of astonishing
  • the user is not able to carry it in the field
  • shutter speeds should match the apparent focal length of the lens
  • color fringing in high-contrast areas
