OpticalLimits - Lens reviews and beyond!

Looking for a Canon 35mm lens review? Read on to find out what we uncovered in our objective optical lab tests.
The Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM is a new moderate wide-angle prime lens. Boasting built-in image stabilisation and fast and quite auto-focusing, the plastic-bodied EF 35mm f/2 IS USM is a more affordable alternative to Canon's professional wide-angle primes. Read our in-depth Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM review complete with full-size sample images.
For street photography, this lens packs some useful features into a modestly sized build
Canon’s EF 35mm f2 has been around for quite a while, launched in late 1990, 22 years ago, it predates digital photography as we know it. Does this matter? Apparently not, this small, old, cheap lens continues to be a worthwhile piece of equipment, albeit on a rather basic level, but in this age of super-zoom lenses, this light, compact workhorse is worth looking at. Here are the DxOMark test results, while waiting for those of the new version of the Canon EF 35mm f / 2 IS USM released last November.
Canon photographers in need of a wide-angle prime lens should take a look at the EF 35mm f/2 IS USM—it's sharp, compact, and optically stabilized.
