The Beyerdynamic DT 770 series was born in 1985 and the headphones have been used by many music producers and sound engineers since then. The manufacturer releases a new version in 2018 and calls it DT 770 Studio.
We asked a few companies to send us their headphones so that we could put them to the test. Each of the four sets below is of a different design. This gave us the opportunity to examine the benefits and downfalls of each design. The people at Marantz were also nice enough to supply us

If you don't want powered, noise-cancelling or wireless headphones then these provide an affordable access point for a relatively neutral listen.
A closed-back design with a neutral tone and a pleasing balance. They suffer, though, with clarity and resolution
