Cons

  • no integrated audio controller
  • Intel didn't have the platform to compete against AMD
  • Intel only managed to offer a 28 core and 56 thread chip
  • AMD caught Intel with their pants off
  • generation Threadripper CPUs are not compatible with this motherboard
  • screaming maximum speed is only heard for a few seconds at bootup
  • multi-GPU machines are becoming increasingly niche in the consumer space
  • codec is fairly limited
  • Design
  • the cable was extremely difficult to plug in
