This diminutive player delivers superb picture and sound and represents incredible value for money
There has been a huge boom, over the last few years, in the number of devices for your A/V system that stream or play music. These devices include many things, from gaming consoles like the Xbox 360 to standalone boxes such as Yamaha's own MCX-2000. In the past year, we have been seeing these types of features creep into traditional consumer electronics components, such as Blu-Ray players and A/V Receivers. The Yamaha RX-V3900 is one such component.
As Sony's most modestly priced BD Live-enabled Blu-ray player, the BDP-S350 is likely to be one of the holiday season's hottest commodities. With an MSRP of $299.99, down $100 since it was introduced this summer, the BDP-S350 is the first Sony Blu-ray player to cost less than the PlayStation 3. The PlayStation 3 is still a killer value--after all, you can play games on it—but the BDP-S350 is among the first in a new generation of affordable Blu-ray solutions. The sub-$300 price point is ideal for non-gamers or diehard Xbox 360 fans that refuse to buy a PlayStation 3, but how does the BDP-S350 perform? Read on for our full review.
Price: $400 At A Glance: Affordable BD-Live performance • Great DVD playback performance • Lacks multichannel analog audio support More Blu for Your Budget The BDP-S350 is Sony’s follow-up to the popular BDP-S300. One of the most inexpensive standalone players on the market, the BDP-S350 includes some great new features that the BDP-S300 design didn’t have. Sony overhauled its form factor, with a case that’s nearly half the size of the company’s earlier players.
Fairly priced and feature-packed, the Sony BDP-S350 has overtaken the PlayStation 3 as the cheapest and most competent Blu-ray player on the market. Besides the fact that Sony took so long to get it on the market, we don't really have any complaints about this player at all
The Sony BDP-S350 is an entry-level Blu-ray player with plenty of impressive features.
The Sony BDP-S350 is the latest Blu-ray player from the company that invented the format. This is an upgrade from its previous entry-level model, the BDP-S300, offering more features and options. The blue brushed-aluminum faceplate, similar to the design of the top-end ES series, is attractive and elegant and sure to add some class to all your black components.
Sony delivers its first BD-Live ready Blu-ray player, and it's surprisingly affordable.
The Sony BDP-S350 is an exceptionally good Blu-ray player that packs in the most important features and delivers pleasing images.
Priced at just $299 USD, the Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray player is both affordable and powerful.
At just over the two year mark since the first Blu-ray players hit the streets, Sony releases its third-generation player, one that some would argue isn't even a fully featured unit.
Designed for the living room rather than a server closet, this Blu-ray box has a petite 17 x 9-inch footprint and flaunts an attractive display, all beveled edges and hues of mirrored blue. The form may be cool, but the function is eye-poppingly hot. Images were crisp, with no noticeable digital detritus. Though it lacks […]
