Samsung's EX1 is a very good camera that enthusiasts will love. It's got an excellent lens and the articulated screen is useful, but it doesn't quite do enough to beat the cheaper LX3.
“A compact camera geared up for low light shooting.” We’ve added a new Samsung TL500 / EX1 [Specs] review to our Reviews Matrix. TechRadar has published their review of the Samsun…

As DSLRs have become less expensive, the number of people keen to buy high-end, manually controllable compact cameras has fallen away - so long as camera size isn't an issue, the benefits of a larger sensor are hard to resist. However, because size is a concern for some people, the sector didn't die-off entirely and, in July 2008, Panasonic introduced the DMC-LX3, finally giving an alternative to Canon's well-respected G-series.
One of the flagship announcements at PMA 2010 was the Samsung TL500, which is a serious point and shoot camera that matches up well against the popular Canon G11. I had to opportunity to spend a l…

A compact digicam with a fast, high-quality 3x zoom lens, P/A/S/M shooting modes and support for raw file capture - but only VGA video. The 10-megapixel EX1 is the new flagship of the company's compact digital camera range. It features a new high-performance 1/1.7-inch (7.6 x 5.7 mm) CCD sensor plus a fast Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan lens with 3x optical zoom (24-72mm equivalent). It also boasts a 3-inch, swivelling AMOLED screen that provides users with a higher contrast ratio, deeper blacks and more accurate colours under most lighting conditions.
Samsung is taking on some tough competition with their EX1, a top of the range compact with an excellent f1.8 lens.

An easy to use Samsung camera with manual features and an f/1.8 lens
I’m sure I’m not the only photography enthusiast that has run into this problem. It’s nice to always carry a camera around with you but when it is a behemoth like my Canon 1D, slipping it in a pocket isn’t an option and carrying a camera bag around isn’t a much better one in most
When people think of manufacturers who make compact digital cameras, few will probably think of Samsung. Though recently, it seems Samsung has been building more photographic equipment, and been doing a great job of it too. The latest compact digital camera from Samsung to reach the market is the EX1. With its compact metal body, an impressive F1.8-2.4 optical zoom lens capable of 24mm at the wide-angle and an articulated screen, it looks like Samsung is serious about their cameras.
