        While the NES is more powerful than the Atari 2600, it was the way that the two consoles differed in their approach to graphics that gave the NES the ultimate edge. The 2600 used drawn graphics, where the entire frame was drawn and redrawn to create the game world. One of the more advanced games was Pitfall!

        The NES had: More RAM (2KB compared to 128 bytes, though additional RAM and bank switching could permit the 2600 to access 64KB of game and the NES to access up to 1MB) A much more capable CPU. Built-in composite, which gives a cleaner signal (the 2600 used RF)
