the zoom and focus ring work smoothly and are well damped
both types of distortion are fairly easy to correct in post-processing
The lens is very sharp and the VR is excellent

this lens is not much fun to focus manually
no hard stop at either end of the range
it quickly turns into heavy pin-cushioning
