Nikon's entry-level DSLR is small but sassy
Nikon D3400 review: A great camera for those who like taking photos, but not so hot for videographers.
We’ve tested a total of 83 fixed focal length prime lenses on the D3400, including both FX-mount full-frame lenses, as well as the DX-mount optics that are specifically designed for use on the APS-C D3400. These lenses cover a vast range of focal lengths, from an ultra wide-angle 14mm for fitting lots into the frame, through to a super-telephoto 600mm focal length that offers a whopping 900mm equivalent on the D3400 (taking account of the Nikon 1.5x APS-C crop factor).
Get the Nikon D3400 if you're a new photographer and want to up your shooting skills.

Image quality isn’t quite as good on a zoom compared to a prime, however, with generally lower lens metric scores recorded in our tests, although some zooms come pretty close to primes. The physics of constructing a zoom lens means that very wide maximum apertures such as f/1.4 or f/1.8 are also rare, although some of the best performers in this review boast wide f/1.8 or f/2 maximum apertures.
