An ultra-affordable tablet for people who just want to stream and browse.
The latest HD 8 isn't much of an upgrade over last year's model, but the "always-ready" hands-free Alexa feature is a nice addition to what remains the best tablet value.
The 2018 edition of the Amazon Fire HD 8 remains the best media tablet you can get for under $100.
Amazon’s Fire HD 8 is still incredibly cheap, but it’s not the bargain it once was.
Amazon's Fire HD 8 (2018) is an affordable 8-inch tablet. Starting at around $80 it is equipped with a MediaTek MT8163 quad-core SoC, an ARM Mali T720 GPU, 1.5 GB of RAM, and up to 32 GB of storage. Its IPS display runs at 1280 x 800, it features two 2 MP cameras, and its Fire OS is a heavily skinned and optimized-for-Amazon version of Android 7.
More features for the same money, the new Amazon Fire HD 8 remains a top budget buy
