Pros

  • most apertures are rated as excellent
  • Both centre and edge the performance is excellent
  • SLR focusing screen is more accurate
  • generously sized lens hood is firmly clicked into position
  • Optically superb
  • lightweight
  • well made
  • and compact
  • nicely dampened so that manual focusing is also very nice
  • The build quality of the Batis is very good
  • The lens is therefore outstandingly designed

Cons

  • ridiculously expensive
  • the picture quality is also inferior
  • OLED distance calibrator is not very accurate or repeatable
  • Coma
  • soft
  • hard to focus
  • not light and it is manual only
  • this lens is just a bit too large for that
  • A bit heavy for a travel or hiking lens
