Lift bow and arrow. Load arrow into bow. Take aim. Twang! And Sony hits another bulls-eye! As with the exceptional Sony DSC-HX5V movie/pano/burst rate camera, I was completely blown away with the Sony Bloggie MHS-PM5! Even if you already own a DSLR or two, perhaps a compact digicam and maybe an HD camcorder, this one
The Sony Bloggie MHS-PM5 is a pocket HD camcorder with an impressive lineup of features (on paper at least). Inside the camera is a sensor capable of 5MP photos, 1080P “full HD” video, SD(HC) and Memory Stick Duo card support, one-touch uploads and a built in USB connector. The Bloggie is Sony’s answer to the huge lineup of pocket HD camcorders that have invaded the market in recent years – a market that Sony used to dominate with their Camcorders. The Sony Bloggie PM5 manages to stand out in the busy pocket camera market thanks to several neat innovations – its first (and easiest to notice) is a swiveling lens. The Sony bloggie is a compact camcorder able to take five megapixel photos and record videos in full HD, which you can then easily load onto your Picasa web album or YouTube.
The strangely named Sony Bloggie is one of the newer high-definition camcorders to hit the market.
A late entry into the pocket-camcorder field, Sony's Bloggie is overdesigned and underfunctional. The swiveling lens offers flexibility, but the slow and unintuitive controls make it a tough sell.
Sure, it has a ridiculous name, but on paper the Bloggie's got it all—1080p video capture, the ability to switch resolutions and frame rate, plus a lens attachment that lets you record 360-degree videos. Bells and whistles galore.
Short version: This camcorder is certainly small, and the swivel head can be handy, but the lack of optical zoom hurts, and the poor video quality, focus trouble, and low light performance pretty much sink this little bugger. Cute, though. Features: Swivel head for easy vanity shots 1080p resolution (720p at 30/60fps also available) Built-in
Sony ported its reputed full HD video quality to this pocket camcorder, but it could be easier to use.
A HD pocket camcorder with some interesting tricks up its extra-small sleeve
We review Sony's new Bloggie MHS-PM5K camcorder which features 1080p video and a snap-on 360 degree lens.
Sony bloggie PM5
We put Sony's Bloggie MHS-PM5 mini HD camcorder through it's paces in our review to see if it can stack up to industry leaders Flip and Kodak.
Bigger than its competitors, the Bloggie rewards with its novel swivelling lens head, decent video quality and 360-degree panoramic lens attachment.
Sony arrived late to the pocket video camera party, but its first attempt, the MHS-PM1, was a disappointment. The new Bloggie MHS-PM5 retains the same key design features, but ups the ante in terms of features. We still
This is Sony%C2%92s entry into the Small and light Camcorder market. I have reviewed a number of units in this and so far my choice has been the offerings from Flip. Here Sony adds a couple of extras still images and 360 degree images or videos.
