  • The lens is beautifully finished
  • light and comfortable to hold
  • Decent optics which are still usable wide open at 300mm
  • good quality shot is better than an outstanding quality shot
  • compact
  • well built
  • lightweight and capable of delivering excellent
  • good light focusing speeds are reasonably quick
  • Distortion is well controlled and very consistent through the entire zoom range
  • Panasonic is almost just as good
  • Improved flare resistance

Cons

  • the corners are significantly soft
  • No noticeable barrel or pin cushion or chromatic aberration
  • The front element does not rotate when focusing
  • Image quality a bit soft at 300MM

  • poor lighting the lens can struggle to achieve focus
  • Lacklustre in terms of outright resolution
