IN-DEPTH review of the Nikon Coolpix 3100 digital camera, with actual sample images, and a detailed data sheet.
Nikon introduced the Coolpix 3100 (three megapixel) and Coolpix 2100 (two megapixel) digital cameras. Although both models are based around the same body, operation and control setup there are some subtle differences. They have different lenses, different LCD displays and different movie clip maximum lengths. These cameras are Nikon's newest entry level offerings and compete directly with cameras such as Canon's PowerShot A60 and A70 (also two and three megapixel). The design of the Coolpix 3100 is compact, lightweight and easy to use. All controls are easy to understand with simple labelling and large buttons. Storage is via a Compact Flash Type I slot and the camera is powered by two AA batteries.
