The Fujifilm Finepix S3200 is a new budget super-zoom bridge camera. Offering a 24-576mm lens, 14 megapixel sensor, 3 inch LCD screen and 720p movies, the S3200 has a very attractive street price of under $200 / £150, but does it cut too many corners to hit that price-point? [rating:4.5/5] I make it a point to let readers know that I am by no means a professional photographer (though with all these camera reviews I’m getting closer), but I do know what I like in a camera as a consumer.  One thing that I’ve always liked are “bridge cameras” – so called because they bridge the gap between simple point and shoot models, and more advanced SLR models.  Bridge cameras have a very small image sensor that allows their […]Read more

With its smart, 'titanium' coloured metal body, 7.1-megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom lens and pop-up flash, the Olympus Camedia C-70 Zoom is an attractive package. It's small enough to slip in a coat pocket and the large (2.0-inch) 'sunshine' LCD screen provides a sharp view that is easier to use in bright conditions than standard LCDs. P, A, S and M shooting modes are supported, along with five scene programs and VGA or QVGA video recording at 30 frames per second, plus voice recording. The 5x optical zoom lens can focus to 2cm in macro mode and up to 6x digital zooming is provided. Playback options are very comprehensive.Read more
The C-7000 Zoom (known as the C-70 Zoom in Europe / SE Asia) is a new design direction for Olympus, looking back through their previous range the only similar camera could perhaps be the C-60 Zoom, although that only had a 3x optical zoom lens and had a sliding lens cover / power switch. It's certainly a departure (as was the C-8080) from cameras like the C-5060 / C-5000.Read more
