Pros

  • sound quality produced across all eight analogue channels is beautiful
  • refreshingly clear
  • simple and intuitive
  • very friendly utility that quickly becomes second nature to use
  • Control utility is beautifully simple and well thought out
  • the preamps are commendably clear and neutral
  • great Thunderbolt sound quality and stylish design
  • headphone amps are also really clean and sound great
  • Focusrite is an excellent interface for studio use
  • The audio interface sounds completely musical and looks great
  • Routing sound and signals are comfortable with the Focusrite software

Cons

  • draw on any processing power inside the 8Pre
  • it s not variable
  • bus powering is not supported
  • no connection cable is included in the box
  • Music equipment can seem complicated
  • Scarlet and shows off its sound capabilities
  • and not access the back of the rack often
  • Mute and Dim options
  • It may not display this or other websites correctly
  • There are no Thunderbolt cables in the box
  • wasn t a mistake not adding a USB connection alongside
