Sigma is better known for its camera lenses than its cameras. But the company also makes a ridiculously strong imaging technology—the semi-legendary Foveon X3 image sensor. The Sigma DP2 Merrill is Sigma's latest attempt to mobilize this sensor in a camera. Can it crush?
Sigma makes radical changes to the Foveon sensor and body of the dp2 Quattro. See our Sigma dp2 Quattro review for all the details!
Normally, we look at a camera from a holistic point of view and compare it to the competition or the class leader. This unfortunately doesn’t make sense for extreme outliers like the DP2Q; we’ll h…
The Sigma DP2 Merrill features a fixed standard-angle lens and is capable of producing some amazing photos—but you'll have to work with Raw files to get the most out of it.
