Smartphone speakers are a mixed bag, but most of us make the best of what we have. While more and more people seem to be audiophiles and are making their audio opinions known online, there comes a point where you might say a smartphone speaker isn't enough. The question is then which are the best external speakers? Nokia are keen to push NFC paired Bluetooth speakers which come with hefty price tags. Today's review looks at the more affordable Veho 360 M4 Bluetooth speaker.
Veho 360-degree M4 Bluetooth Speaker
Looking for an affordable and portable way to get louder music playback for your Android handset? Take a look at the recently released Veho 360° 'Ice' White Bluetooth Speaker, which offers 5 hours of playback from a single charge. Diminutive in stature, the speaker also provides 3.5mm input as well as microSD expansion card (up to 16GB) support for WAV and MP3 files. Additional details include volume and track button control and a 600mAh rechargeable battery. We like the short, compact size (3 x 2 x 6 inches) of the speaker and appreciate having something we can toss in a backpack or overnight bag. The A2DP/AVRCP support allows for controlling your music in that you can advance, pause, start over, etc. This is handy in those cases where you might have your phone elsewhere, charging up or put away. It's loud, clear, and lasts as long as we need it to but it's not something you'll want to use to entertain a houseful of guests. We loved having this around in the office and kitchen and even on the back porch while listening to podcasts.Box Includes:360° 'Ice' White Bluetooth Wireless Speaker Line in Cable Mini USB Charging Cable Carry SockWith a suggested retail price of $99 we found this a hard buy; thankfully, places like Amazon are offering the Veho M4 for less than half of that cost. The current price of $43.40 is right in line with what we might ask, perhaps even cheaper. Our advice is to look for it around $55 or less and you'll be doing alright.
