The top premium 4K LCD on the market, and a great OLED alternative
Samsung’s new flagship QLED looks more like a very bright OLED
It seems that this was the year for 4K to become more of the standard, leaving 1080p models to slum into second place, hidden in the value or discount sections in stores, near-freebies for doorbusters
I'm not sure we agree with the placement of the Q90R here but we do love its amazing lifelike picture quality!
The GHI's Tried & Tested review of the Samsung QE55Q90R
We have reviewed Samsung's 2019 4K flagship. Q90R has new wide viewing angle tech, FALD, and an external One Connect box
Samsung takes QLED past OLED with superb HDR dynamics and a host of smart features
The Samsung QE65Q90R is a stellar 4K LCD TV that sets a mighty high bar for the rest of the 2019 TVs that come after it
“At last everything QLED promised is a reality”
When Samsung introduced its first QLED TVs in 2017, their focus was mainly on two things: brightness and colour range. Two things which, funnily enough, rival OLED TV technology traditionally struggles with. But Samsung has moved on, and its 2019 QLED, tested here in the shape of the top-of-the-range QE65Q90R, is an LCD TV which behaves in many ways like an OLED TV – without sacrificing LCD’s own strengths... It doesn't look like an OLED, though.
