After spending almost a week with these speakers I can tell you that Altec did what it had to do. The FX-6021 system is aimed at high-end PC users looking for music solutions and at that it succeeds. It is not a perfect system, but the overall balance is solid. I don't think the speakers measure up to the competition in some respects, but in others they perform as well as any. What works against them is price. At $300.00 they tower over systems from other companies, and this is a problem. However, I still recommend checking them out before investing in other speakers. They offer a unique combination of sound quality, design, and flexible installation.
