Leica V-Lux 2 is a 14.0MP Small Sensor Superzoom camera with a 1/2.3-inch sized CMOS sensor and 25-600 mm F2.8-5.2 lens. Read our V-Lux 2 review to find its pros and cons.
Leica D-LUX 2 review, find out how the D-LUX 2 stacks up against the competition in our real-world review with in-depth image quality comparisons.
The highly versatile Leica V-Lux 2 superzoom is enjoyable to use and capable of capturing some fantastic shots. But this camera is basically the same as a Panasonic model that's almost half the price.
The D-Lux 2 has an aluminum body and is bundled with a 64MB Secure Digital card, a charger, a battery, and a software package that includes Adobe's Photoshop Elements 3.0, QuickTime Movie Player, and USB driver. That 64MB card holds few TIFF, raw, or large JPEG files (2, 3, 15, respectively), so treat yourself to a 1GB (they're less than $100) memory card to get the maximum enjoyment and image quality from the camera. The D-Lux 2 also has in camera "trimming" (cropping) that some snapshooters might like, but most Shutterbug readers will ignore.
Leica Camera (Solms) has released details of its latest compact digicam, the Leica D-Lux 2, which has many features in common with Panasonic's DMC-LX1 model.
The D-Lux 7 is Leica's brand new premium compact camera, featuring a relatively large Micro Four Thirds sensor and a fast 3.1x zoom lens. Is this the best pocket camera on the market? Find out now by reading our Leica D-Lux 7 review, complete with full-size sample images.
Leica D Lux 2 8 to 10 Megapixel user reviews : 4 out of 5 - 1 reviews - photographyreview.com
Leica has today announced the D-LUX 2, which appears to be a re-skinned Panasonic DMC-LX1 (review available today). So this camera will not be much of a surprise, it's got the same 4.0x zoom, 28 - 112 mm equiv. lens with built-in image stabilization and (sadly) the same 16:9 ratio eight megapixel CCD as the DMC-LX1. For your extra dollars you'll get a cleaner case design without a hand grip and with that all important red logo. Leica will be making available the 'Digital Adapter 2' which will enable you to shoot through a spotting scope.
