It might not mix up the traditional Xperia look, but the XA2 is probably the best mid-range smartphone Sony has made in a long time
The Sony Xperia XA2 offers solid performance and exceptional battery life for a mid-range handset.
The Sony Xperia XA2 is a 5.2-inch mid-range smartphone, which is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, the Adreno 508 GPU, 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage. In addition, it has a Full HD display, a 23-MP main camera, and fast LTE.
An incredibly bright screen and Android Oreo aren't enough to make Sony's bulky midrange phone worth its steep price tag.
Announced in January 2018, the Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra is billed as the ultimate “dual selfie” camera smartphone, having both a 16Mp and an 8Mp camera on its front. Around the back, however, there’s a 23Mp camera that uses a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor and has very similar specifications to the cameras in Sony flagship smartphones. It’s [...]
Sony has defied the doomsayers and made a new smartphone worth owning. A serious sense of style elevates the Xperia XA2 above its midrange contemporaries, and a solid battery life and camera don’t hurt.
The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra phablet pairs a large 6-inch screen with impressive camera capabilities, but it lags behind the competition in terms of processing power.

The GHI's Tried & Tested verdict of the Sony Xperia XA2
The Sony Xperia XA2 is an upper mid-range phone with some flagship specs, like an edge-to-edge screen, a massive megapixel count, a big battery and a comfortably curved design. There’s a lot going for it then, but does it live up to the specs and is it good value for money?
Sony's latest mid-range phones are here, but what do they offer over the outgoing models? Read our Sony Xperia XA2 review for more.
While the hype from Sony this year centres around their new Xperia XZ2 range and the updated full-screen design which adopts the 18:9 aspect ratio, it seems there’s still some life left in the old design for their mid-range devices like the Xperia XA2. Landing in Australia this month, the Xperia XA2 still maintains the […]
While flagship is the thing, Sony's stab at the middle of the market arrives in the Sony Xperia XA2, a handset focused on value for money. Does it deliver?
