The ViewSonic Pro8200 could make for an affordable home theater experience.
A great-value 1080p projector with good image quality. It's also very cheap to run, but for only a little more, Epson's EH-TW2900 is a serious rival.

But it should resolve to do better The latest entrant in the increasingly crowded budget 1080p projector market, the ViewSonic Pro8200 has an impressive resumé. At a tidy 3.63kg, this diminutive 2,000 lumens light cannon bristles with connection options, sports TI’s BrilliantColor picture technology and utilises a freshly minted 0.66in Digital Mirror Device for ultra-spiky detail.
The ViewSonic Pro8200 may seem "cheap and cheerful," but its sub-par image quality against rivals makes it a worse value.

We started this Viewsonic Pro8200 projector review with a pre-production projector, received, I believe, right before first shipments to dealers. We did experience several issues with the first projector, which shall be discussed later. A Pro8200 with the latest firmware, arrived about 3 weeks later – a few days before publishing this.
