Pros

  • very smooth and easy in treble delivery
  • slim
  • elegant floor standers
  • reproduced this track superbly conveying the depth of emotion in her voice
  • treble frequencies were smoother and less pronounced this way
  • expansive soundstage with excellent imaging
  • It offers up a highly refined sound
  • fantastic build quality and finish
  • Antal 40th is a beautifully made and presented product at the price
  • sound was quite compelling and great fun to listen to
  • Antals are technically and sonically accurate

Cons

  • these speakers never exhibited the dreaded boom or thickness in mid bass
  • small size and potential for mid bass anomalies
  • the Triangle speakers had a faster presentation
  • ATC's were decidedly mid to rear hall
  • the highs were slightly overcooked
  • naturalness to the quality of the snare drum
  • Bass seems to be sometimes loose
  • they claim are extremely rigid
  • the Antal has no bass lift so will not sound bass heavy
  • Thunderous subsonics moved my lounge and frightened the cat
  • Bass extends down to 30Hz then cuts off sharply
