overall package is very attractive
webcam's quality is satisfactory for video chats in well-lit rooms
the display is reasonably well calibrated
the interface reacts quickly and fluidly
range of uses immensely and is a huge benefit
touchscreen reacts quickly and accurately to input
display content looks good even from wide angles
fast enough for many tasks and allows the user to work
the Encore 8 handled day to day tasks smoothly
Streaming video plays back clearly and smoothly
Battery life is decent

Light pools just a little around the edges of the display
many Windows programs do not yet have a corresponding app
casual games offered in the Windows store run without a problem
inch tablets only have a 5-megapixel camera
Toshiba Encore 8 is thicker and heavier than most 8-inch Windows tablets
Many buttons and scroll bars are too tiny
