Pros

  • stylish and svelte ebook reader
  • simple upgrade and makes life significantly easier
  • fairly responsive and keeps up with you very well
  • It is extremely portable and the piano black finish looks very solid
  • Keys are faster and more responsive and feels like a traditional Android
  • Sony Store is optimized to the reader and looks amazing
  • Text looked good and highly readable in my tests
  • infrared touchscreen was very responsive
  • The button navigation is consistent with previous Sony models
  • getting around was easy
  • The back feels good in the hand

Cons

  • lack of legacy support is disappointing
  • Controls sometimes do not work
  • the screen is not as good as previous version
  • Sony reader PC program still annoying to use
  • the user interface can be frustrating
  • no 3G option
  • display quality or drive up prices significantly
  • It is not necessary to use the desktop software
  • rechargeable Lithium Ion battery (not user replaceable)
  • The extra features were a bit wonky
  • Kindle has about 2GB of space for books
