Pros

  • excellent scaler will make for an outstanding display
  • it does a very good job at approximation
  • displays are fantastic
  • Sony has made over T1 refine job becomes extremely easy
  • well-built and quite adjustable
  • The illusion is quite excellent
  • the colours and contrast of the picture are quite strong
  • support was excellent with smooth pans and onscreen movement
  • Black levels were fantastic with plenty of detail
  • image quality in SDR remains very good
  • the display quality in HDR is almost perfect

Cons

  • individual pixels would be quite noticeable compared to a normal screen
  • only really show up more on bright content
  • units are at a premium
  • slightly blurry
  • non-uniform image will
  • The show looks pretty bleak
  • The outside construction of the headset is entirely plastic
  • crosstalk / ghosting that often plagues shutter glasses
  • Distribution is limited to Sony stores
  • much tethered to both your source and a power supply
  • This is clearly not a mass market item
