A little over two years ago, the Sony FS5 II compact cinema camera was released. Both the original FS5 and the FS5 II have become common names found in wildlife filmmaking thanks to their relatively low price, portability, and slow motion recording options maintaining 10-bit 4:2:2.   • It feels great in the hand and is customisable
  • Optically it is a pretty good all-rounder
  • optical image stabilisation system that works very well
  • the camera in the box is actually good for more than five minutes of use

Cons

  • Can you put goofy masks on peoples faces
  • absurdly noisy turbo fan of the Shoguns
  • the price is way too much
  • CMOS sensor remains untouched
  • lens is the kit lens
  • it isn t terrible
  • slow autofocus and lack of higher bitrate intra frame recording
  • the power tap placement makes fitting the cable a bit awkward
  • slow motion shooting doesn t seem to work with this mode
  • The picture ends up being a little noisy
  • cumbersome and not so small as to be fiddly
