  • as the focus control ring operate smoothly without any tendency of wobbling
  • buttery smooth and easy to turn
  • a great bokeh that is nice and soft/creamy

Cons

  • No focus range limit switch is available
  • a slight decrease in sharpness toward the edges

Pros

  • as the focus control ring operate smoothly without any tendency of wobbling
  • buttery smooth and easy to turn
  • a great bokeh that is nice and soft/creamy
  • the tracking ability of the lens is excellent
  • lens barrel itself is nicely made and will take on some beating and weather abuse
  • It remains balanced through the full zoom range
  • The zoom really makes this a very versatile lens
  • image quality and overall AF performance
  • the image remains very stable during manual focusing
  • The Sigma of course retains the strong zoom range advantage

Cons

  • No focus range limit switch is available
  • a slight decrease in sharpness toward the edges
  • the lens mount is still a bit of a weak point
  • zoom ring a bit awkward to rotate
  • The zoom ring turns less than 90 degrees
  • sharpness increases significantly as you stop down
  • this lens lacked certain features to compete directly with the premium offerings
  • it narrowly misses out on the top spot
