Pros

  • The subwoofer is nicely integrated
  • The overall build quality is very good
  • dedicated centre speaker also ensures that dialogue remains clear and focused
  • powerful and expansive front soundstage
  • ensures that dialogue in TV dramas and movies is intelligible
  • sturdy rubber feet that provide a good degree of support and isolation
  • The overall sound quality is impressive
  • excellent separation between speakers
  • and thus some very good stereo imaging
  • The overall engineering is very good

Cons

  • spatial effects coming from the side and up-firing speakers are less convincing
  • the Sharp HT-SBW800 is not it
  • no real surround presence
  • lack of rear speakers means you
  • soundstage is very front heavy
  • the lack of actual surround channels
  • lack of DTS
  • abundant bass that immediately filled the space
  • There is no app since it is not networked
  • not the high (expensive) category
  • The spatial effects coming from the side and up-firing speakers are less
