Can I still use Samsung Gear VR in 2021?

Android 12 for the Galaxy S10, S10+ S10e and S10 5G will begin rolling out in December, 2021, and Gear VR will no longer be supported on devices that update to Android 12. If you wish to continue using Gear VR with the listed devices, please do not update your phone OS.

First, set up Gear VR on your smartphone and pair the Gear VR controller with the Oculus app on your phone. Then open the cover on the front of the Gear VR and place your phone into the slot with the display facing the Gear VR lenses. The controller is your easy-to-use remote control.

Outdated Software For best performance, ensure that the most recent version of Android firmware as well as the most recent versions of the Oculus and Gear VR service apps are being used. If it has been verified that the mobile device is fully updated uninstall and then reinstall the Oculus and Gear VR service app.

Open the Oculus app. Tap More and then tap Controller. Below Paired Controllers, tap your controller. Tap in the top right and then tap Recalibrate.
