On an outdoor run, the Fit logged 0.52 miles to the Stryd's 0.58 miles, for a difference of . 06. The Galaxy Fit's heart rate monitor was also accurate in testing compared with a Polar H10 chest strap. After a one-mile walk on the treadmill, the Fit recorded an average of 127bpm to the Polar's 124bpm.

The Galaxy Fit design is much more user-friendly. It not only weighs less than the Gear Fit 2 Pro but it also has an overall slimmer fit. That being said, the screen is noticeably smaller. It's a small price to pay for a more lightweight and compact fitness tracker, but it also has some drawbacks.

with Android and iOS. Gear Fit2 pairs with smartphones running Android 4.4 and higher with over 1.5GB RAM, iOS 9.0 and later, and smartphones iPhone 5 and newer. (For iPhone 6S and 6S+ running iOS 10 and later, connection to Gear may be unstable.)

The Gear Fit (unofficially) supports most recent smartphones, such as the HTC One M8, Nexus 5, Moto X, and HTC One. I tested the method on a variety of devices and it appears it should work with any smartphone or tablet running Android 4.2.1

It wasn't available at launch, but with approval in the US and Europe – and a rollout onto the Active 2 via a big update – both devices can now take blood pressure readings and ECG. The first step is calibration with a dedicated blood pressure cuff – so you can't just slap the smartwatch on your wrist and go.

Turning on sleep tracking While it might not make it obvious, the Gear Fit2 does actually monitor sleep automatically. But you need to make sure everything is set up correctly in the S Health app to make it happen. If you have an iPhone, you might find it difficult to do, but it works perfectly fine in the Android app.

Wearables like Galaxy Gear (2013), Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, Gear S and Gear Fit will not be supported by newer Samsung phones that launch in 2021. Having said that these wearables will continue to work with Samsung phones that were launched in 2020 and earlier.
