Eventually Samsung issued software updates that made it difficult or impossible to charge the phone. Still, people who love their Note 7 held on tight (hopefully not too tight) and are still using their phones today — albeit in a diminished state.

Is the Galaxy Note 7 plus waterproof?

The Note 7 can be submerged in water up to 5 feet for up to 30 minutes. The "6" part of the rating is for resistance to dust, and 6 is a great rating — it means that when the phone comes in contact with fine particulates, whether wet or dry, it'll be able to survive just fine.

The Note 7 continued the trend of no removable battery, but it brought back expandable storage and further refined the Note formula to create for one damn impressive device. Unfortunately, excitement and praise for the Galaxy Note 7 were short-lived.

In August 2016, several Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Smartphones were reported to explode. The manufacturer called upon its engineers hurriedly to diagnose the source of the problem. The initial report pointed to a fault in batteries procured from one of the suppliers.
