and the faux-metal looks reasonably classy

The Galaxy J3 (2017) was released in July 2017 with Android 7.0 Nougat on board. It received the Android 8.0 Oreo update in August 2018 and the Android 9 Pie (with One UI) update in August 2019. Currently, it is on a biannual software update schedule and could soon stop getting software updates.

It's not too difficult to understand why the Galaxy A3 (2016), J1 (2016), and J3 (2016) have been axed; they're all around two years old at this point and they're budget to mid-range devices.
