The Galaxy A6 is a very attractive mid-range phone offering a similar package to the A8 but at a much lower price point. We like the design and build quality with the main features being the tall screen with small bezels and decent cameras.

The Samsung Galaxy A6 is an affordable phone in the same family as the Samsung Galaxy S9. It's for the many of us who can't justify spending on Samsung's top phones. Where the pricier Samsung Galaxy A8 feels much like a cheaper S9, the Galaxy A6 is quite different, with its metal, rather than glass, rear.

On the rear, the fingerprint sensor sits beneath the camera, just like A6+, but has a single-lens set up instead. A6 has a similar material build and is also IP68 certified for dust/water resistance.

As you'd hope from a very high-res selfie camera, the Samsung Galaxy A6 can capture plenty of fine detail, facial hairs and even pores. However, you do have to keep the phone very still to get a sharp image, unless you're shooting in bright conditions. The best 8-megapixel front cameras are better in practice.
