Pros

  • it worked smoothly and the quality was fine
  • Excellent range of smart functions
  • Samsung is speedy and confident
  • has fine dynamics
  • goes loud effortlessly and has a good soundfield
  • The chase play functionality also works very well
  • Navigating through the apps is very easy as is finding recorded TV programs
  • the images are always comfortable to watch

Cons

  • it takes longer to react to button presses than Sony's premium
  • no catch-up service for commercial Australian TV stations
  • a couple of hundred dollars more expensive than some competing devices
  • Bad Progressive scan conversion only adequate on DVD
  • are simply too much of a pain to use without
  • it still can be frustrating
  • hardly looks or feels like a premium product
  • It may not display this or other websites correctly
  • negates the ability to schedule a timer whilst viewing recorded material
  • the PVR functionality is no longer a tacked-on afterthought
  • it does not update to record
