  • intuitive to use and sounds excellent
  • nice physical design and layout
  • Neat user interface with everything digitally controlled
  • It feels very solidly constructed
  • transparent sound
  • ultra-stable performance
  • super clear and easy to navigate
  • Well-built
  • compact for 8 mic inputs
  • built very well and has 8 very good microphone preamps

Cons

  • the Studio-Capture is definitely not a small unit
  • forget the power input port
  • The Studio Capture is not a class-compliant device
  • your signal will be recorded compressed or gated
  • be switched so that they operate only in the monitor path
  • utopia is not fixed in space and time
  • phantom power is turned on somewhere on any one of the inputs
  • the preamps are a bit worse
  • lack of gain is detrimental
  • background noise is annoying
  • does not have a gain control for microphone input is not practical
