  • It works really well
  • Digital microscope mode is great fun
  • good colour quality and viewing angles in dim light
  • low-light sensitivity is quite impressive
  • Sounds great
  • Image quality is among the best in the rugged camera class and GPS system works well
  • worked perfectly after going underwater
  • simple to navigate and makes changing settings quick and easy

Cons

  • not remotely the best tough option
  • Images are still quite soft and noisy
  • hard plastic covering feels tough-as-nails
  • sharpness falls off dramatically
  • Noise ramps up quickly beyond ISO 400
  • feature is no longer present in the Ricoh WG-4 GPS
  • comparatively slow
  • inefficient
  • and not entirely reliable
  • very few buttons in the camera
  • The buttons are a little stiff compared to regular digital cameras
